MITCHELL - CENTURY IIB -  Faceplate installation directions

Before you begin: Check to see if you received the proper faceplate insert. Are the numbers the same as your radio? Does it fit correctly? Although the holes and text may be the same, many faceplate manufacturers made different widths or heights of the same faceplate. (Just to make life a little more interesting.)

1. Have this insert installed by an avionics shop if you do not have all the proper tools, are not a qualified technician or are not sure you are capable of doing this job.
2. Remove your faceplate from radio.
3. Sand off the top painted surface of the old faceplate. This will provide necessary illumination of text for replacement faceplate insert.
4. Remove the double-face tape backing from the new insert.
5. Place the new insert onto the faceplate lightly to align as best as possible. Press firmly to secure it.
6. To stop any light from bleeding out the edges or holes, carefully apply some black paint around these edges. Use a Testor'sŪ black paint stick or similar brand found in most hobby stores.
7. Re-install faceplate on the radio.
8. Re-install all the knobs onto the radio.
9. Tell all your aircraft buddies about Aircraft Engravers and place the enclosed sticker on the metal case for future reference.
